This was my first read from K.J. Bell and it will not be my last! I was addicted to this book just by the cover! When a cover has you breathing into a brown paper bag you hope it's not just for show. Let me tell you the author did not disappoint!
Meeting Tug (Aidan Hunter) in the cigar shop I was in Awe of this fine specimen. Yes he came out cocky and arrogant but that just meant there was more of him to find out about and that's just what we did.
Falling for a hooker named Maria or Monica (pending what night it was) she would change his ways in more ways than one. While Aidan is still trying to get over and find closure on his first love, Maria is not looking for love. But they happen to become non-friends in so many ways. Maria has him thinking of his life and future in a different way. Tug's life has been such a secret and Maria has so much more to hide . He will do anything to protect her and her son Javier but will it be enough to with stand their relationship or will it push them over the edge.
As they try to blossom into a family so many skeletons emerge to the surface and secrets turn into lies.
I was pulling for Maria but it looks like she was just in it for the "Hustle".
And I can not believe the "Cliffhanger" that we are left with. I just hope we don't have to wait forever for Tug book #2! I will wait on pins and needles to find out what happens next!
